Work Days and Dedication Weekend
Originally instituted as the Annual Spring Fair, New Life Camp’s Dedication Weekend marks the beginning of our summer camp season. As the snow begins to melt in Grey County, the camp facilities receive a deep clean after a long winter of Snow Camps and weekend retreats. Volunteers are invited to join us for a few hours or the entire weekend as we work together to prepare the camp property for the arrival of campers. On Saturday morning at 11:00, we take time to reflect on all that God has done over the past year and dedicate a new season of ministry to Him. Many of our summer camp staff will be in attendance during this weekend and the Dedication Service is often a time for sharing testimonies of the way that God has been at work through our summer camp ministry. Following our service, we invite everyone who has been involved in the workdays and Dedication Service to join us for a BBQ. If you are able to join us for this weekend, or interested in learning more about opportunities to volunteer at New Life Camp, please let us know!
Bluewater Seniors Banquet
New Life Camp occasionally hosts a banquet for the many seniors who support our ministry. It is an opportunity for attendees to meet our summer leadership staff, sing hymns, and hear testimonies of the faithfulness of God. The freewill offering that is collected during this event is put towards sponsorships for campers who would not otherwise be able to attend New Life Camp during the summer, allowing us to minister to the children of our community regardless of their need for financial assistance.
Corporation Meeting
At the Annual Corporation Meeting, delegates from each of the twelve Bluewater Fellowship Baptist Churches meet to enjoy a meal together and review the annual report from the previous year. It is an opportunity for the Camp Director, Chairman of the Board, Treasurer and other ministry representatives to present their annual reports and to share where God is leading the ministry into the future.
Community Christmas Open House
In December 2017, New Life Camp hosted its first Community Open House as a way to say thank you to the neighbours and local businesses with whom the camp staff interact throughout the year. We turned on the lights and opened up the buildings for those who may not have had an opportunity to visit the camp to walk through the facilities, see the recent renovations, and meet the staff families. This event was inaugurated in 2017, and we look forward to building on the tradition in the years to come.
Staff/Service Team Christmas Party
This annual event has been going strong for almost a decade at New Life Camp. In the week between Christmas and New Years, we extend an open invitation to all of the students who have ever volunteered at New Life Camp, as either staff or service team, to join us for a potluck and games night. This summer staff reunion has long outgrown the Freeland’s kitchen and is now hosted at the camp, where we spend time catching up with old friends and close the evening with a time of devotion and worship.
